PM launches Clean and Green Pakistan campaign
Prime Minister Imran Khan has formally launched Clean and Green Pakistan campaign.
He planted a sapling and participated in the cleanliness drive at the F-6/2 Model college for girls in Islamabad on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime 
Minister urged the students and youth to lead the campaign as it is 
connected with the future of the country.
Highlighting the contributions made by 
the students in the construction of Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital, 
Imran Khan said the country requires their services to make Pakistan 
clean and green.
The Prime Minister pointed out that 
plantation is imperative to protect the environment and check the global
 warming. He mentioned that Pakistan is the seventh most vulnerable 
country to the global warming. He mentioned that Lahore is amongst the 
cities where the pollution level is very high.
Imran Khan said that the PTI government 
planted one billion trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and there is 
international recognition of this drive. He said that the government now
 targets to plant ten billion trees across the country which he 
expressed the confidence will change the weather pattern.
Imran Khan said under the cleanliness 
drive, sewerage and sanitation system will be improved not only in 
cities but also the slums and the villages. He said as part of the 
integrated solution, dumping sites would be identified from village to 
Tehsil level for disposal of solid waste.
The Prime Minister said Katchi Abadis will be regularized and a housing project will also be started for their dwellers.
Imran Khan vowed to the make the country
 more cleaner than Europe in five years time.
For this to happen, he 
said, we will also have to bring a change in our mindset.  Earlier, the 
Prime Minister also interacted with the students and inquired them about
 the issues faced by the country due to global warming.
