OIC condemns human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir where strike enters 3rd day

Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the OIC has strongly condemned grave human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.

In a statement, the Commission said it was appalled by the unrelenting streak of violence perpetrated by Indian security forces against innocent Kashmiris.

The Commission appealed to the international community and the OIC Member States to take cognizance of the ongoing bloodshed and impress India to put an immediate end to the continuing human rights violations. It demanded that those responsible should be brought to justice. 

Strike enters 3rd day

In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed on the third consecutive day, today, against the bloodshed by the Indian troops in Srinagar and Shopian.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops in their brutal acts of state terrorism had martyred four youth in Srinagar on Saturday and ten in Shopian on Sunday.

Call for the shutdown was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership.

All shops and business establishments remained closed while transport was also off the road.  

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities continue to impose restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the bloodbath by the Indian troops.

All educational institution remained closed. Mobile Internet facility also continued to remain snapped for the third day in the Valley while train service between north Kashmir's Baramulla town and Jammu's Bannihal town remained suspended.

Despite restrictions, people took to streets in Pantha Chhok area of Srinagar amid playing freedom songs.

Clashes erupted between Indian forces and protesters when the troops tried to enter a mosque. The troops arrested several protesters, including three minor boys.

On the other hand, Indian army and police conducted joint raids in different areas of Baramulla district and arrested around a dozen of youth, labeling them as workers of mujahideen.
