The News Story 24/7 is not simply about disseminating information. We are here to adhere to time-tested values of socially responsible journalism.
Though we may at times appear to be slightly conservative and modest in our approach and presentation, it is simply to ensure objectivity, accuracy and authenticity of the news, free from any biases and prejudices. In the process we cannot rule out the possibility of falling prey to human errors; but we will always be open to correction and clarification.
"We are here to serve the community, locally and globally" is our slogan. The ‘community’ of course refers to Society at large and its segments and we remain committed to respect and honour its sensitivities. The word ‘locally’ refers to Pakistan and the word ‘globally’ is here for the world at large that has now become a well-connected, well-integrated village thanks to the Internet and other applications based on information technology.
News Story 24/7 is, basically, a news website. It is a platform established with a view to provide on-job-training to working and aspiring journalists.
During the past decade, a number of educational institutions have emerged in Pakistan which are imparting education in the field of media sciences including journalism. Every year, fresh graduates are joining the field of electronic and print media.
In Pakistan, some established institutions had been catering to the needs of providing proper training to newcomers for decades. But these institutions, though still operating, seem to have lost their significance due to many factors.
These institutions have failed to keep pace with the rapidly changing face of journalism and the technological advancement associated with it; hence their inability to impart proper on-job training to the new breed of emerging reporters and sub-editors.
In view of this situation, there was a realization that there should be some forum/platform where these young journalists could be provided with practical training to help them develop their professional skills. We pondered over it and agreed on the necessity of such an organization. However, it was for want of funds that we kept on deferring the plans.
Finally, we took an initiative and decided to establish a news website to realize the above-stated objectives. As our other colleagues in the profession came to know about our initiative they started extending their helping hand.
