PM to formally launch '10 billion tree Tsunami'

Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally launch the "10 Billion Tree Tsunami" by planting a sapling in District Haripur today.

1.5 Million saplings will be planted today in major cities of Pakistan. Government Departments, Military forces, NGOs, Students and a large number of citizens would be participating in the plantation drive.

Plant for Pakistan

About 1.5 million trees are being planted under "Plant for Pakistan" campaign across the country on Sunday.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change, Amin Aslam, said the campaign is a part of the government's ten billion tree Tsunami 2018 drive.

People are being provided free of cost saplings for plantation at one hundred and ninety distribution points across the country.

The campaign is aimed at creating awareness about benefits of forests and increasing forest cover in big cities of the country.
