Justice (Retd) Nasirul Mulk sworn in as caretaker Prime Minister

Justice (Retired) Nasirul Mulk has taken oath as caretaker Prime Minister.

He was administered the oath of office by President Mamnoon Hussain at a simple but impressive ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad Friday.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by outgoing Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, members of the former cabinet, governors of four provinces and services chiefs.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said there is no threat to the democratic system in the country.

Talking to a private news channel, he said democratically elected governments always performed well for the uplift and prosperity of the people of the country.

He said it is the responsibility of interim-set up to ensure general election on the stipulated time schedule in a transparent manner.

Nasirul Mulk is the seventh caretaker Prime Minister of the country.

Later, on arrival at the Prime Minister house, a smartly turned out contingent of the armed forces presented guard of honor to caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk. He also inspected the guard of honor.

Nasirul Mulk also met with the staff members of the PM house.
