PM reiterates govt's resolve to complete process for merger of erstwhile FATA with KP
Prime Minister Imran Khan has reiterated
government's resolve to complete the process for merger of erstwhile
FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to a delegation of Senators
belonging to erstwhile FATA that called on him in Islamabad today
(Friday), he said government is also striving to implement local
government system in the tribal districts.
He said the government is trying its best to complete the process of merger of FATA with KP without any delay and hindrance.
He also said that the tribal people have right on the minerals and these should be
spent on the construction and development of the area.
Prime Minister said besides provision of allocated annual development
funds for erstwhile FATA, the federal government, with the cooperation
of the provincial governments, would fulfill the promises made with the
people of tribal areas in distribution of the NFC Award.
Imran Khan said the patriotic people of tribal areas had suffered a lot
of problems in last several decades and visible improvement in the lives
of its people is the foremost priority of PTI government.
The
delegation discussed with the Prime Minister merging of FATA with
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, development schemes and issues confronting the
people of tribal areas.
