According to the police, the suspected killer Abdul Basit married the victim Nabila Amber some five months ago. It was the second marriage of Basit and the second of Nabila's either.
During the course of interrogation, Abdul Basit gave multiple reasons for the murder. He told the police that he did not like her wife's male friends to visit home. This was one of the bones of contention between him and his wife that led to frequent brawls between them.
The suspect told the investigators that it was his second marriage and he did not inform about this marriage to his first wife. At the time of the marriage, he gifted his house to his second wife in Mehar (mutually agreed amount or asset at the time of marriage contract). However, later he realized he did wrong as he took decision emotionally.
Abdul Basit wanted to get the house back in his name and his wife was not ready for it.
