Complete shutdown in Indian held Kashmir as six more killed raising death toll to ten
Six more youth have been martyred in the ongoing act of oppression
by the Indian troops in Shopian district of the occupied Kashmir bringing the
death toll to ten during the past 24 hours.
The youth were killed by the troops during a cordon and
search operation in the district. The martyred have been identified as Prof Dr
Muhammad Rafiq Butt, Saddam Ahmad Paddar, Bilal Ahmad Mahand, Aadil Malik, Tausif Ahmad Sheikh and teenager Asif Ahmad Mir. Asif was killed in firing by the troops on protesters in Badigam. The troops also destroyed a house during the operation.
The Kashmir Media Service said the killing led to intense
clashes between the troops and the protesters in the area. The troops used excessive
force and fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells injuring many protesters
including Asif Ahmad Mir, 17. .
A police officer while talking to journalists in Srinagar confirmed
that four youth were killed after Indian army launched the cordon-and-search operation in
the area.
Earlier on Saturday, the troops had killed three youth during a violent cordon
and search operation in Chattabal area of Srinagar, while the
fourth one identified as Aadil Ahmed was killed when a vehicle of Indian forces
deliberately hit him at Noorbagh in Srinagar.
Complete Shutdown
In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed
against the killing of three youth by Indian troops in Chattabal.
Call for the strike was given by the Joint Resistance
Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad
Yasin Malik.
The puppet authorities have imposed restrictions on free
movement in various areas of Srinagar including Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal,
Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari and Kralkhud to prevent anti-India protests. The
authorities also continued to snap internet services in Srinagar and other
parts of the territory.
Meanwhile, the Indian troops launched a cordon and search
operation in Zainapora area of Shopian district today. Media reports said that
one policeman and an army officer have been injured in the firing in the area.
