Four-day Qaqlasht Festival 2018 at altitude of 8000-foot in Chitral ends
A four-day Qaqlasht Festival showcasing an amalgamation of sports competitions at the 8000-foot high tourist resort in Upper Chitral culminated on Sunday.
The festival showcased different sports including polo tug-of-war, skate shooting, marathon race, volleyball, cricket, football, archery etc.
Similarly, cultural show, traditional food stalls, and paragliding were also part of the festival.
Competitions of Polo, Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Zip Lining, Rock Climbing, etc., were conducted by the district administration.
Cricket match held at Jashan-e-Qaqlasht, Chitral under the floodlights. It was for the first time in the history of Chitral that the District Administration made special arrangements to arrange the Cricket match at the World’s highest altitude ground of 8000ft under the floodlights.
German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler in his tweet missed the festival.

A large number of people, tourists, and students from different educational institutions attended the event.Deputy Commissioner district Chitral Irshad Ahmad Sodhar had inaugurated the festival. The aim of the festival was the promotion of tourism in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The festival was arranged by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
