Firing on Christians kills two in Quetta while they leaving Church after Sunday service


At least two persons were killed and five others injured when some unknown gunmen opened fire at the entrance of a church in the provincial capital on Sunday.

Quetta DIG Abdur Razzaq Chema said the incident occurred when people were leaving after attending the Sunday service at a church in Essa Nagri area of the provincial capital.

The DIG said that unidentified attackers riding a motorbike opened fire on the members of the Christian community and fled.

The bodies of the deceased were later handed over to the heirs. Two of the injured were identified as Amanu Iqbal and Mehvish.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the incident and directed that the elements involved in the attack should not be spared at any cost.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti expressed sorrow over the incident and also assured action against the culprits.

The Christian community members staged a protest demonstration against the attack. They blocked the Brewery Road near Golimar Chowk. The protesters said that the government had failed to end attacks on Christians.
