A three-day Youth Cultural Mela to be held at Lok Virsa from April 27-29
The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) is holding a three-day “Youth Cultural Mela” from 27th to 29th April 2018 at Islamabad.
The Lok Virsa administration said that the objective of the Mela was to promote traditional skills, create awareness among youth about the indigenous folk heritage of Pakistan and above all, to strengthen and re-enforce a spirit of national harmony and integration in the nation through a cultural perspective.
On the eve of the Youth Cultural Mela, Lok Virsa will organize the 4th session of series ‘Muzakra’ on “Life & Teachings of Baba Farid” on April 26 at Faiz Heritage Library.
The ministry of information said that it is a bi-monthly program in which guest speakers bring their literary, intellectual, cultural & social works & engage with the audience.

A prestigious opening ceremony is scheduled on Friday, 27th April at Lok Virsa Heritage Museum. The ceremony will present popular milli naghmas, Kalam-e-Iqbal, live folk music and folk dance performances by young folk artists, folk musicians, and folk dancers.
Sindh Cultural Department will host a “Sindh cultural night” on Saturday.
A colorful “Youth Cultural Show” will also take place on Sunday, 29th April wherein young folk artists, folk musicians, and folk dancers will perform live in a concert. Timings of the Mela will be from 10 am to 8 pm daily.
