A man killed when US Embassy vehicle hit motorbike in Islamabad

A man was killed another sustained injuries in Islamabad after a US Embassy vehicle hit a motorbike, police said on Saturday.

The accident took place in the Daman-e-Koh area at around 3pm Saturday when the defense and air attache Col Joseph Emanual was driving the vehicle.

The deceased was identified as Ateeq Baig.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office spokesperson released a statement, saying the incident is being looked into.

“An accident involving a US embassy vehicle occurred in Islamabad. MOFA is looking into the matter,” said Dr Mohammad Faisal. “Investigations are being carried out.”

The police said the investigation has been handed over to the Homicide department and further action will be taken on the request of victim’s family.
